Agree Together - 5.15.20

Updated: Nov 10, 2020

Welcome to the Women's Ministry Prayer Team! It is such an honor to have you as part of this special team. With all that we have been through as a church family, the Lord has laid on my heart the desire to start a Prayer Team for our women so that we can easily communicate the prayer needs of our church and engage and equip this team for success as we fight in prayer for our people.

What's Expected? As part of the Prayer Team, we are asking you to read the weekly email and pray over the requests (Prayer Points) mentioned sometime during the week. There will be many suggestions and ideas. Do what fits into your schedule! We want this team to be a blessing to you, not a burden. This is a team of women that are committing to pray for our church. How, when, and where you pray is up to you!

Prayer Tips - The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray in Luke 11:1 - "Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray..."

The disciples wanted to be taught how to pray effectively, which leads me to believe that we can improve our prayer life as well. With this in mind, we will be sending out Prayer Tips based on Scripture that we hope will help you as you develop your prayer strategy. We will also have Prayer Points that list out the requests for the week that we are asking you to cover in prayer, along with a suggested prayer.

3:30pm Prayer - This is of course optional, but I still want to encourage you to call someone if you are able to, and pray out loud, over the phone, daily at 3:30pm. Doing this daily may not work for everyone. You might choose one day a week. If that time doesn't work for you, choose another time. But praying with someone is so important because we are to agree together in prayer. (See Prayer Tip #1) Over the last few weeks, I have looked ahead and scheduled my prayer partners at the beginning of each week, and that keeps me accountable and gives me so much to look forward to. (Also, if I forget, they call me!) I have also utilized FaceTime to pray where I can see my friends. I encourage you to use whatever you're comfortable with.

PRAYER TIP #1 - AGREE TOGETHER

Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

Jesus is teaching us in this passage that coming to the Father in unity and asking God for a specific request is effective in prayer. God wants us to be unified, and when we agree together, and reach out to Him, it touches the heart of God. This is one reason that we suggest you call someone and pray with them. Of course, this doesn't negate the power of individual prayer.

PRAYER POINTS - (These are this week's Prayer Requests)

  • For souls to be saved and lives to be changed through the online services and Bible studies.

  • For the reopening plans and processes of Mid-Way Baptist Church to be in line with God's will.

  • Wisdom and discernment for Pastor Grant and the Leadership of Mid-Way in making decisions during this difficult season.

  • For the healthcare workers on the frontlines serving our community (especially those in our church family.)

  • The health and safety of every church member, visitor and supernatural protection from the coronavirus.

  • Divine protection from the enemy for Mid-Way's Staff and Congregation.

SUGGESTED PRAYER -

Father God, I come before You in the mighty Name of Jesus, and I humbly ask for Your blessings on Mid-Way Baptist Church. Lord, please give wisdom and discernment to Pastor Grant, our Staff, Deacons and Trustees. Please grant them discernment as they work to reopen the church in Your perfect timing. We ask that You take the seeds planted in the online services and use them to further the Gospel message so that a harvest of souls would come forth. We pray for the supernatural health and safety of every member and visitor of Mid-Way. We come against the enemy with the blood of Jesus, asking that You, Lord, would give us the victory and divine protection and turn everything that the enemy has planned for evil to be used for our good and Your glory. God, we lift up all the healthcare workers on the frontlines working to serve our community. Please bless them and give them strength, stamina, and safety during this time. God, we again cover the reopening of our church in prayer, asking You to bless our efforts to honor You and that You would be glorified in everything.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Thank you again for being a part of the Mid-Way Women's Prayer Team! You are a blessing and a joy to me. It is my hope that this resource better equips you in praying for our church family! I know that your prayers will continue to make an amazing impact for the Kingdom of God!
