It can be easy to praise the Lord when everything is going great in our lives. We praise Him for the food that we have, for getting a job, for the blessings He has bestowed upon us, for having a healthy family, etc. but how often do we praise the Lord in the trials, the darkest seasons, the hurt, and the brokenness that we go through in life? It is vital to praise the Lord in the highest of highs and even in the lowest of lows. We are called to praise Him every single day, no matter what.
PRAYER TIP #25 – Pray Prayers of Praise
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
Psalm 63:3-4
Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls— yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
and He will make me walk on my high hills.
Habakkuk 3:17-19
In Acts 16, we see Paul and Silas portray this prayer of praise. Paul and Silas were beaten, thrown into prison, and their feet were fastened in stocks. In this dark, dreary, and confusing time for Paul and Silas, they could have responded out of anger and confusion as to why they were getting thrown into prison. In response to all that was happening, Paul and Silas began to pray and sing praises to the Lord. The prisoners were listening to all that they were doing. Shortly after, there was a great earthquake; the foundations of the prison were shaken, the doors were opened, and every prisoner’s chains were loosed.

I pray that when I am faced with difficulty, I will run into Your arms! I love You Jesus!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
