When Jesus was on the earth, He was a man of prayer. The writer of Hebrews vividly described Jesus' prayers. In the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear (Hebrews 5:7). Jesus is our example; He was the perfect prayer.
The Prayer Life of Jesus. "The occasions for His prayers were many and varied. He prayed in the early morning (Mark 1:35) and at night (Matt. 14:23). He often prayed alone. Sometimes He is pictured as praying during one of His miracles (John 11:41-42). Twice He blessed people and the children who were brought to Him (Matt. 19:13-15). Major decisions in His life were preceded by prayer. One of the most significant decisions of His life, the choosing of the twelve apostles, came after a night of prayer (Luke 6:12-13)." - T.W. Hunt
Prayer Tip #24 - Pray Always and About Everything
Then He [Jesus] spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). Jesus petitioned His Father during His earthly ministry and depended on God to guide Him. How much more should we continuously pray to our Heavenly Father during the day for every decision, situation and circumstance we face and that others we know face?
Please remember to take time to call a friend this week to pray and agree to believe God together.
Prayer Points - (Pray over these requests)
Ask your Heavenly Father for you to become a woman of prayer.
Pray for all the decisions you have to make.
Ask God to help you to remember to pray throughout the day and night when necessary.
Make a scheduled time to practice the privilege of prayer.
Pray that the Pastors, staff, church leaders and church body would become faithful prayer warriors.
